rolled out its Experience offering, which gives locals the opportunity to host
travellers for a single day or longer. Hosts are usually knowledgeable locals who want to show others the hidden gems and cultural aspects of their community. Experiences are currently available in
12 cities around the globe: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Detroit, London, Paris, Florence, Cape Town, Havana,
Seoul, Nairobi and Tokyo, with 50 more on the cards for this year. Travellers in Cape Town can even book a tour with Nelson Mandela’s former prison guard.

WAZUPA Are you craving a healthy meal, but have no time to cook? Use the Wazupa app to order and pay for a meal from a home chef who lives near you.
ADMYT This South African app allows you to avoid the hassle of paying for parking at shopping malls and lifestyle centres. After registering, boom gates recognise your number plate, charge your credit card and open automatically.
SENDR Launched in Johannesburg in 2016, this tech courier business has a fleet of motorcyle drivers who’ll ensure that when you send a package, it’s delivered within the hour. The service is also available in Cape Town and Durban.
STREET-STYLE DINING
There’ll always be a place for fine dining, but the younger generation of chefs are dishing up experiences geared more
towards informality. Food trucks and events such as the annual Street Food Festival in
Johannesburg and Cape Town allow visitors to tuck into dishes which are created to
